Illuminated in red, it is the alarm signal to support all the professions of the performing arts and events. An invitation towards our political representatives, an international movement. On November 18th, the Arles Amphitheater became the site of a powerful symbolic action, bringing together numerous economic and cultural stakeholders from the city. The event, called "Alerte Rouge" (Red Alert), saw this iconic monument bathed in vivid red light, serving as a warning signal in support of all the professions involved in live performance and event production. This initiative, born from the movement of cultural workers and their unions, aimed to draw attention to the growing precariousness of the sector, exacerbated by the ongoing health crisis. This action, both visual and symbolic, took place at one of the most emblematic locations in Arles. The Amphitheater, a majestic and historically rich site, transformed into a powerful rallying cry for culture and the event industry. With the red light projected onto the ancient stones of this historic monument, iDzia played a part in amplifying the message: the culture and live performance sectors are facing an unprecedented crisis, and immediate action is needed to support these vital industries. In collaboration with various local partners, including the Théâtre d'Arles, the Association du Méjean, Suds à Arles, Village 42, Rencontres Arles, Luma Arles, and Cargo de Nuit, this mobilization aimed to make the voices of cultural professionals heard. Together, these organizations called for concrete and sustainable support, highlighting that the cultural and event sectors are essential pillars of our society, both economically and socially. The lighting installation at the Arles Amphitheater by iDzia was executed with technical and artistic precision, transforming this historic location into a symbol of resistance and solidarity. In addition to architectural lighting, projections were used to display messages and images, further strengthening the impact of this visual mobilization. This act not only raised awareness about the situation of cultural workers but also helped to educate the general public on the realities of the performance world, which often remain behind the scenes. 📍Chapelle du Méjean, Arles ▪️ Installation iDzia : the sound, acoustic design Last weekend, the Chapelle du Méjean in Arles hosted an exceptional event as part of Jazz in Arles 2020, a music festival that draws jazz enthusiasts from all over the region each year. This historic venue, with its unique atmosphere, provided the perfect setting for memorable concerts, and iDzia was pleased to contribute its expertise in sound and acoustic design. The Chapelle du Méjean, with its distinctive architecture, is not an easy space to sound due to its specific acoustic characteristics. However, through careful planning and a custom installation, we were able to create a sound experience that matched the talent on stage. The challenge was to find the perfect balance between the venue’s acoustics and the artists’ needs to ensure optimal sound quality. For this project, we used the best available technology. The sound system was designed to meet the venue’s particularities while ensuring uniform coverage of the space. Fohhn speakers were chosen for their ability to deliver clear and precise sound, which is essential for this type of intimate musical performance. Thanks to this cutting-edge technology, every instrument, every nuance of the music, was heard with perfect clarity, providing the audience with an immersive and enriching experience. The use of the Midas console allowed for intuitive and professional sound management, giving full control over the live mixing. This console, paired with DPAM microphones, helped make each performance unique, whether it was the solos or the collective improvisations of the artists. The Jazz in Arles 2020 program featured talented musicians such as Fred Pasqua, Naïssam Jalal, Rémi Charmasson, Alain Soler, and the Nefertiti Quartet. Each of these artists brought their own unique touch to the festival, and we are proud to have contributed to showcasing their music through our sound installation. Beyond simple sound reinforcement, our work was guided by a constant focus on acoustic design, aiming to highlight the subtleties of each performance while respecting the integrity of the venue. For this edition of the Night of Light, iDzia took part in a symbolic act of solidarity by lighting up the iconic Arles Amphitheater. By illuminating this historic monument, we sought to raise awareness about the urgent challenges faced by the cultural industry, particularly those brought about by the ongoing health crisis. This initiative not only celebrates the resilience and creativity of cultural professionals but also emphasizes the need to support these sectors during uncertain times. Our contribution involved setting up architectural lighting to bring new life to the Arles Amphitheater, creating a stunning visual display that highlighted its majestic structure. We had the pleasure of working at the Amphitheater of the National School of Photography (ENSP) in Arles to set up a complete and tailored audiovisual installation. This project provided an opportunity for our team to showcase its expertise in video conferencing systems, video projection, video capture, sound system, acoustic treatment, and lighting, ensuring an immersive and professional experience for the users of this space. The installation of a high-performance video conferencing system was at the heart of this project. The system we chose guarantees exceptional image and sound clarity, even for meetings with many remote participants. Video projection also played a key role in the installation. The footage is then broadcasted in real-time through the projection system, ensuring that all participants, whether present in person or remotely, enjoy the best possible experience. Sound system and acoustic treatment were particularly important to guarantee impeccable sound quality in such a large space. Using state-of-the-art sound systems and meticulous acoustic treatment, we were able to offer perfect sound clarity, whether for live interventions or pre-recorded broadcasts. Every speech is now perfectly audible, no matter where one is sitting in the amphitheater. We had the privilege of working at the Municipal Council Chamber of the City of Arles to set up a customized technical installation. The event, which required high-quality recording and broadcasting, was an opportunity for our team to provide our expertise in sound, lighting, and live streaming. Our mission was to ensure a seamless and professional experience for both the participants present on-site and those following the event remotely. For this project, we designed a comprehensive solution that integrated state-of-the-art equipment for video recording, live streaming, and sound and lighting management. We installed a tailored recording system that suited the architecture and specific needs of the room, allowing us to film and broadcast the Municipal Council's discussions in high definition. The streaming was conducted in real-time, ensuring access to a wide audience. This event marked the opening of a new chapter in the history of art, showcasing one of the most significant artists of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. As the technical installer for the event, iDzia had the honor of designing and implementing the lighting and sound for this exceptional evening, creating an immersive atmosphere perfectly aligned with Jeff Koons’ works. Jeff Koons, known for his monumental sculptures and reinterpretations of everyday objects, draws inspiration from banal, familiar items, often from American pop culture. His artistic approach revisits the concept of Readymade, popularized by Marcel Duchamp, and questions the very notion of what constitutes an artwork. In this exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to discover iconic works that transform ordinary consumer objects into monumental pieces of art, prompting the viewer to reflect on the boundary between art and everyday objects. For the exhibition's opening night, we took charge of the complete sound and lighting setup, ensuring that the spirit of Koons' work was honored while providing an unforgettable sensory experience for the guests. The lighting played a key role in highlighting Koons' sculptures and installations, creating light effects that accentuated the volumes and details of the works. By using specialized projectors and advanced projection techniques, we were able to enhance the space and create an immersive atmosphere, inviting visitors to dive into the unique world of the artist. The sound was designed to accompany visitors throughout their journey in the exhibition. Discreet audio installations were placed in strategic locations to broadcast a subtle soundtrack, enriching the visual experience without overwhelming the artworks. We are thrilled to be part of the 2021 edition after a year without the festival. This year, we had the privilege of providing all the technical sound services for the festival, including the main sound system and stage monitors, to ensure an optimal audio experience for both the artists and the audience. The event took place at the Salle de l'Alpilium, a renowned cultural venue in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, known for its exceptional acoustics and warm atmosphere. Once again, the organizers brought together exceptional talent, with performances by Natacha Atlas, Paolo Fresu, Bloom, and the legendary Ron Carter. Each artist brought their own unique musical style to the stage, and our mission was to ensure that every note was perfectly captured, both for the musicians on stage and for the audience in the hall. One of the main challenges was to create a sound installation that met the specific needs of each performance while adapting to the unique acoustics of the Salle de l'Alpilium. The configuration of the stage monitors was crucial in ensuring good communication between the musicians and ensuring that each instrument was heard clearly on stage. Meanwhile, we made sure the sound in the hall was balanced and enjoyable, providing an optimal listening experience for every spectator. The technical setup we deployed for this event was designed to meet the high standards of the artists while providing the audience with a complete sensory experience. The challenge was to create a versatile and powerful system capable of adapting to different musical styles and the various atmospheres of the concerts. Each performance required special attention to ensure that the sound, light, and video were perfectly synchronized, creating a total immersion into the world of each artist. This iconic venue, with its rich history and impressive architecture, provided the perfect setting for such a unique event. On this occasion, iDzia took care of the entire sound installation, ensuring an immersive and high-quality experience for all attendees. The Théâtre Antique, with its ancient stones and historical atmosphere, provided a breathtaking backdrop for the films created by the students of MoPA. This majestic setting highlighted the young filmmakers' works, but to ensure a fully immersive experience, it was crucial that the sound aspect was perfectly suited to the environment. Thanks to iDzia’s expertise, we were able to install a high-quality sound system that enhanced the screenings and provided the audience with a complete sensory experience. For this project, we chose a cutting-edge audio setup using equipment from renowned brands such as db Audiotechnik, Yamaha, and Shure. This selection allowed us to achieve clear, precise, and dynamic sound reproduction, perfectly suited to the acoustics of the theater. Ian CHENG, Life After BOB: The Chalice Study 📍Les Forges - Parc des Ateliers, Luma Foundation, Arles ▪️ Installation iDzia : LED screen in cinemascope format, 5.1 sound Ian CHENG, "Life After BOB: The Chalice Study" From June 26 to October 2, 2021, the Fondation Luma in Arles hosted a one-of-a-kind installation, Life After BOB: The Chalice Study  by Ian Cheng. This innovative work introduces a new form of programmable storytelling that allows visitors to immerse themselves in a fictional world while actively influencing its content. The project combines cutting-edge technologies, including real-time cinematic tools via the Unity program, and an AI-managed "wiki world." This approach provides the viewer not only with access to explore the story but also with the rights to read and write, enabling them to play, modify, and expand the details of the created universe, thus becoming an active participant in the evolution of the narrative. Ian Cheng's creation is based on interactivity and the constant evolution of the work. Life After BOB  is not just a passive audiovisual installation; it transforms the spectator into a participant in the story, giving them a crucial role in the unfolding of the narrative. This groundbreaking concept is enhanced by the use of a cinemascope LED screen, allowing the work to be presented with stunning image quality that fully immerses the audience in Cheng's world. The large-screen format is one of the key elements that ensures an immersive visual experience, offering an impressive and detailed view of the virtual universe unfolding before the audience. The sound dimension was designed to perfectly complement the visual aspect. Thanks to a high-quality 5.1 audio system, the sound envelops the visitors, further enhancing the immersive and interactive experience. The spatialized and dynamic sounds interact with the image, making every moment of the program more intense and realistic. This sound system adds an additional layer of depth to the atmosphere, inviting a more sensory exploration. The Artificial Intelligence used in Life After BOB  also plays a central role in the installation, adjusting and developing the story's content based on the public's interventions. For instance, visitors can modify elements of the story in real time, alter variables, and interact with the characters and events in the fictional world. This not only allows for a unique experience with each visit but also opens the door to collaborative and evolving storytelling. By bringing this installation to the Fondation Luma, Ian Cheng has redefined the boundary between art and technology, creating a work where the spectator becomes a participant in an ever-evolving story. The installation was a tremendous success, allowing visitors to actively engage in a world that is constantly changing, where imagination and reality meet through interaction and technology. We are proud to have contributed to this work by setting up the cinemascope LED screen and the 5.1 sound system, which played a vital role in creating this immersive experience. 📍 Carrières des Lumières, Les Baux-de-Provence ▪️ iDzia Installation: Sound and Light Wedding at Carrières des Lumières Wedding at the Carrières des Lumières The magnificent wedding of C&B took place at one of the most iconic locations in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the Carrières des Lumières, an exceptional setting where history and modernity meet. This unique wedding was elevated by our team, who took charge of the sound and lighting design for the event, creating an unforgettable sensory experience for all the guests. The Carrières des Lumières, a spectacular and historically rich site, offers a grand setting for any event. Located in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, these quarries are famous for their artistic and immersive projections that illuminate the stone walls, transforming the space into a true theater of light. For this wedding, we rose to the challenge of enhancing this unique atmosphere by adding both sound and light elements perfectly suited to the event. One of the main challenges of this event was harmonizing the historic nature of the venue with modern and elegant installations. Light, which served as the thread that connected our work, helped to accentuate the raw architecture of the quarries while creating a warm and intimate ambiance. By using projections, accent lighting, and subtle effects, we were able to enhance the space, adding a touch of modernity while respecting the history of the location. The light plays also helped define the different areas of the reception, from the majestic entrance to the dance floor, including the guests' tables. Each area was illuminated in a specific way to create a particular atmosphere: soft and intimate for dining moments, and more dynamic and festive for the dance floor. The light truly acted as a main character, bringing magic and cohesion throughout the evening. To complete the visual experience, the sound dimension was carefully orchestrated. Music played a fundamental role in immersing the guests. We made sure to create a sound atmosphere that perfectly matched the visual environment. The sound was subtly and smoothly amplified thanks to our high-quality sound system, allowing every guest to fully enjoy the music without ever disrupting conversations and interactions. Our installations also ensured smooth acoustic management, especially in such a vast space like the Carrières des Lumières. We paid close attention to adjusting sound levels according to the key moments of the event, from the cocktail hour to the cake cutting, speeches, and dancing. Each moment was perfectly timed, offering guests a seamless and synchronized sound and light experience. The wedding of C&B at the Carrières des Lumières will remain a memorable moment, not only for the couple but also for all the guests present. Thanks to our expertise in sound and light design, we contributed to creating a magical and immersive atmosphere, thus enhancing the emotions of this special day. This project was a true success, and we are proud to have offered such a unique experience to all participants.
