At the Carrières des Lumières, Doux Joaillier, a family-owned jewelry house, hosted a private Doux x Chanel dinner in a spectacular setting, surrounded by the art center’s limestone walls, with light displays, video mapping, and a custom musical ambiance.

Doux Joaillier: Three Generations Dedicated to Watchmaking Expertise

Founded in 1965 by Henri Doux, a watchmaker and gemologist, Doux Joaillier is a family-owned business that has been passed down through three generations. He began in Avignon by building a local clientele before collaborating with prestigious houses. His children, Richard and Diane, continued the business and are now passing their expertise on to the next generation, Arthur and Ethan Doux.

Today, Doux Joaillier has established itself in the world of luxury watchmaking and jewelry. The Doux family operates nine boutiques across six locations (Avignon, Nîmes, Courchevel, Saint-Tropez, Deauville, and Megève) as well as an online store, offering products from leading international brands.

Les Carrières des Lumières: A Unique Digital Art Venue

For this private dinner, the venue chosen is the Carrières des Lumières, a digital art center offering immersive exhibitions, designated a “Classified Natural Site.” Located in Les Baux-de-Provence, in the Val d’Enfer, it occupies former white limestone quarries historically used for the construction of the castle and the Baux village.

The Carrières des Lumières underwent its first transformation in 1977 with the creation of a cultural space dedicated to sound-and-light projections, inspired by the work of set designer Joseph Svoboda. In 2012, the site reopened under its current name, Carrières des Lumières, with the concept of digital art as it exists today.

The main hall, which extends approximately 60 meters into the mountain, opens onto a vast space punctuated by imposing natural pillars left by the quarrymen, which also serve as projection screens. As a result, this natural setting offers an ideal venue for hosting prestigious private events.

Sound, lighting, video mapping: iDzia’s expertise at the heart of the event

iDzia drew on its full range of technical expertise to create a completely bespoke atmosphere. The venue’s sound system was designed to envelop guests in a musical ambiance consistent with the spirit of the event, taking into account the quarry’s unique acoustics. Likewise, the lighting was orchestrated to highlight the tables by playing on the contrasts between the darkness of the rock and the beams of light. Finally, a video mapping display was created, projecting the logos of both companies.

The Carrières des Lumières are among iDzia’s regular partners, and this ongoing collaboration has allowed the teams to master the site’s technical specifics perfectly. This in-depth knowledge of the venue, combined with years of expertise in high-end event production, enables iDzia to transform every evening into a unique experience.
