▪️iDzia Installation: sound, lighting, backline
A majestic third edition of the Baux Pianos Festival took place on June 28 and 29, 2025, in the heart of the Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence, offering a breathtaking setting for this year’s theme, “Women’s Voices in Stone,” a moment where music, heritage, and emotion come together in dialogue within this unique site known since 2012 for its immersive exhibitions. Since its founding by André Manoukian, the festival has celebrated the richness and diversity of female voices, a human and heartfelt vision brought to life through a lineup featuring the powerful soul of Awa Ly, the jazz-infused energy of Robin McKelle, the collective Nomades with Dafné Kritharas, Jaklin Baghdasaryan, Éléonore Fourniau, and Emma Prat, and the poetic duo of André Manoukian and Rosemary Standley. iDzia has proudly supported this festival since its very first edition, and we extend our sincere thanks to Stéphane de Manouk, André Manoukian, and Renaud for their continued trust and for their ever more generous and warm organization, as well as to our production team—Elliott, Pablo, Alexandre, and Arthur—for their flawless dedication. Our technical involvement covered the full integration of sound, lighting, and backline, with special attention given to creating an immersive and high-quality experience for artists and audiences alike. The sound system, based on d&b audiotechnik, was finely tuned to respect the site’s natural acoustics and mineral resonance, delivering clear, balanced, and enveloping sound throughout the entire space. The lighting design was developed to highlight the monumental stonework and enhance the emotional depth of each performance, creating a visual choreography that harmonized perfectly with the music—from Awa Ly’s soulful folk to Robin McKelle’s jazz, from the Nomades' multicultural traditional songs to the intimate recital of Manoukian and Standley. The professional backline provided seamless transitions and met the technical expectations of each musician, ensuring a smooth and artist-centered experience. This full audiovisual system brought to life a vibrant, immersive, and emotionally rich atmosphere, staying true to the spirit of the festival, where women’s voices echo powerfully in stone and invite the audience on a sensory journey through African groove, American soul, jazz, world music, and French chanson. A heartfelt thank you to the Baux Pianos team, our technicians, and André Manoukian for this remarkable partnership, and to the audience who came to celebrate music and heritage. iDzia looks forward to returning to this extraordinary place, where sound, light, backline, and emotion come together to elevate every voice and every note.
