▪️ Installation iDzia : Le son et la lumière
From April 2, 2025, the Chapelle du Centre de la Vieille Charité in Marseille will host the immersive exhibition Mère We Sea by Laure Prouvost, a work that transports visitors into a dreamlike and aquatic universe. This monumental installation, conceived as a maternal and fertile figure, draws its inspiration from the chapel’s architecture and the history of the generations that have inhabited the site, from past centuries to the residents of the Panier neighborhood today. It invites visitors to reconnect with forgotten memories while celebrating the diversity of stories from Marseille, in collaboration with the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) and the Conservatoire de Marseille.
To enhance this sensory experience, the company iDzia, specializing in audiovisual integration solutions, was called upon to create the sound and lighting installation within this historic space. The aim was to craft an immersive atmosphere that harmonized with Laure Prouvost's artwork while respecting the baroque architecture of the chapel. iDzia deployed a discreet yet high-performance sound system to subtly diffuse ambient sounds that accompany the visitor’s journey without distracting from the central work. Simultaneously, scenographic lighting was used to emphasize aquatic reflections and light play, further enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere of the installation.
This collaboration highlights iDzia’s expertise in integrating audiovisual technologies into contemporary art. The company provides tailored solutions for lighting, sound, video, and structural design, specifically suited to the requirements of cultural venues, museums, and artistic events. Their approach ensures a balance between the aesthetic and architectural integrity of the space, enriching the visitor experience by creating sound and visual environments that elevate the artworks on display.
iDzia’s role in Mère We Sea demonstrates how advanced audiovisual solutions can merge seamlessly with art and architecture to create a more immersive experience. By focusing on the subtleties of light and sound, iDzia enhances the impact of Laure Prouvost’s installation, inviting visitors to explore the space in a new and captivating way. Their ability to work within complex, historical spaces without compromising the integrity of the artwork or architecture is a testament to their expertise.
The Mère We Sea exhibition is open to the public until January 11, 2026, at the Chapelle du Centre de la Vieille Charité. For more information on iDzia’s projects and services, feel free to visit their website or get in touch to discuss your own audiovisual integration needs.
