📍 LUMA Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: the audio, the video When Art and Music Resonate Presented at the LUMA Foundation, in La Galerie Principale, from December 2024 to March 2025, the exhibition REVERB The Vinyl Factory showcases a selection of audiovisual works commissioned by The Vinyl Factory. Originally organized in London in 2024, this exhibition brings together twenty years of collaborations between artists, musicians, and creators, exploring the connections between sound, image, and contemporary art. The Vinyl Factory: Bringing the Past to Life to Imagine the Creations of Tomorrow Founded in 2001, The Vinyl Factory is a company dedicated to music and art. The group comprises a vinyl pressing plant, a record label, and an exhibition program. Originally established in 1890 by the inventor of the gramophone, this factory helped produce legendary records by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and the Sex Pistols. Considered one of the most iconic companies in the industry, The Vinyl Factory has also forged partnerships with major cultural institutions, including the Venice Biennale, the Barbican Centre, the Serpentine Galleries, and the LUMA Foundation. A dialogue between sound art and visual creation REVERB The Vinyl Factory at LUMA Arles has chosen to highlight two works that have recently left their mark on the history of video art: BLKNWS by Kahlil Joseph, a two-channel project that subverts the conventions of television news by blending archival footage, popular culture, and personal images to question the construction of news. Ijó by Gabriel Moses, an audiovisual work following young ballet dancers in Lagos to the music of James William Blades, exploring the connections between art, family, and cultural heritage. An experience in which each projected work invites visitors to experience music in a new way, navigating the realms of memory, image, and emotion.

📍 LUMA Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: the lighting, the video, the sound When Technique Becomes Ritual Presented at the LUMA Foundation in La Grande Halle from July to November 2025, Wael Shawky’s installation Je suis les hymnes des nouveaux temples (I Am the Hymns of the New Temples) offers a multimedia sensory experience. An artist who bridges video art, sculpture, and mythological narratives Wael Shawky, born in Alexandria in 1971, is a contemporary artist known for his video works, installations, and experimental film projects. A leading figure in narrative and hybrid art, his work draws on a reinterpretation of historical and mythological narratives from the Middle East, blending reality and fiction while challenging dominant cultural representations. His epic films create an open dialogue between different perspectives, without favoring one over another. Among his most renowned works is the trilogy Cabaret Crusades (2010–2015), in which he uses puppets to reenact the medieval Crusades from an Arab perspective. His works are now part of the collections of major international institutions, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, and the MACBA in Barcelona. Metamorphoses of Myth in Wael Shawky’s Installation Je suis les hymnes des nouveaux temples transformed LUMA Arles’ Grande Halle into a timeless space where history and contemporary narratives engage in dialogue. Drawing notably on the city of Pompeii as a starting point, the Egyptian artist revisits the myths of ancient Greece through a contemporary narrative. The exhibition thus explores: “Timeless forms of storytelling, symbolism, and ritual, connecting a shared cultural memory to an experience of rare emotional and philosophical depth” (LUMA Foundation, 2025). At the heart of the installation, a film features the goddess Gaia and shows how myths evolve and circulate from one civilization to another. Glass and bronze sculptures complement the ensemble, evoking fragility and transformation. Thus, I Am the Hymns of the New Temples demonstrates that myths continue to live on by taking on new forms through contemporary art and technology.

📍 LUMA Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: the sound, the lighting, the video Maria Lassnig at LUMA Arles Presented at the LUMA Foundation, in the Galerie du Cerisier and the Galerie des Archives Vivantes, from May 2025 to April 2026, Hans Ulrich Obrist Archives / Chapter 5: Maria Lassnig "Vivre avec l’art empêche de se faner !" (Living with art keeps you from withering!) is an exhibition dedicated to the artist Maria Lassnig, tracing her artistic journey. A Pioneer of Body Awareness Born in Austria in 1919 and deceased in 2014, Maria Lassnig left her mark on art history through her paintings and drawings. Her concept of Körpergefühl (“body awareness”) led her to depict not the body’s outward appearance, but the sensations it experiences from within, giving rise to expressive self-portraits. Considered one of Austria’s greatest painters, she explored surrealism, informal art, and animated film, while developing a feminist approach. Her career has garnered international recognition: she represented Austria at the Venice Biennale, exhibited at Documenta in 1982 and 1997, and received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in 2013. An exhibition born of a friendship between an artist and a curator Maria Lassnig: “Living with Art Keeps You from Wilting!” is part of a series of exhibitions presented by LUMA Arles, in which German curator Hans Ulrich Obrist highlights the personal archives of artists he has known throughout his career. The exhibition brings together filmed interviews between Lassnig and Obrist, their correspondence, and several of the artist’s paintings. Two films complement the exhibition: The Ballad of Maria Lassnig (1992) and Selfportrait (1971), showcasing her pioneering work in animated film within New York’s feminist scene. As the curator summarizes: “For Maria Lassnig, life and art were one and the same.” (LUMA Arles, 2025) A statement that illuminates the entire exhibition and captures the spirit of a pioneer for whom creating was, above all, a way of being.

📍 LUMA Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation : the sound, the lighting, the video, the structure A work at the intersection of art and digital technology Presented at the LUMA Foundation in the Mécanique Générale space from July 2025 to January 2026, Ho Tzu Nyen’s video installation Spectral Day and Strange Tales offers an immersive experience that blends imagery, sound, and contemporary storytelling. An Artist at the Intersection of Film, History, and Mythology Ho Tzu Nyen, born in Singapore in 1976, is a contemporary artist known for his video installations and experimental films. A leading figure in hybrid and digital art, his work draws on a wide range of cultural references from Southeast Asia, theater, film, and philosophy. His artistic practice centers on the construction of narratives and how they influence our perception of history. Consequently, through the use of archives, animation, and digital technologies, he creates hybrid worlds where reality and fiction become inseparable. Evolving Narratives in Ho Tzu Nyen’s Installation Spectral Day and Strange Tales brings together five multimedia installations spanning more than a decade of creative work. The collection explores the construction of historical, cultural, and personal narratives through complex audiovisual devices. These works cover: “Topics ranging from pre-colonial myths to episodes of colonization, from contemporary geopolitical dynamics to representations of a hybrid and unstable present” (LUMA Foundation, 2025). At the heart of the exhibition, the Singaporean artist’s work employs advanced technologies such as algorithmic editing, video archives, animation, and artificial intelligence. In that respect, the main installation, Phantoms of Endless Day, recombines materials from an unfinished film. Thus, Spectral Day and Strange Tales combines art and digital technologies to give rise to new forms of storytelling.

📍MUCEM, Marseille ▪️ iDzia installation: video, light, sound MUCEM: Closing night of the OH les beaux jours! festival A magical closing for the Oh les beaux jours! festival on the terrace of Fort Saint-Jean at the Mucem. For this final evening, the audience gathered facing the sea, in an exceptional setting where heritage, poetry, and contemporary creation naturally echo one another. As the sun slowly disappeared on the horizon, the golden evening light gave way to a soft atmosphere, inviting reverie. The first part of the evening was carried by Clara Ysé, accompanied on piano by Camille El Bacha. Together, they brought to life the poetry collection Vivante , published by Seghers, in which Clara's world resonates with the voices of René Char, Ingeborg Bachmann, and Fernando Pessoa. Her reading, delivered with a presence both gentle and powerful, immediately captured the audience’s attention. The subtle notes of the piano accompanied the words with precision, creating a bubble of poetry suspended in time. The second part of the evening took the form of a hybrid and immersive performance titled Les royaumes invisibles . Musician Voyou took the stage with his luminous compositions from the album Les Royaumes minuscules , while comic book artist Cyril Pedrosa drew live on stage. His illustrations, projected in large format, evolved in sync with the music, creating a seamless visual and sonic dialogue. The connection between image and sound was built gradually, drawing after drawing, note after note, shaping a dreamlike, almost cinematic narrative. This sensitive duo was joined by a surprise appearance from Albin de la Simone, adding yet another emotional layer to an already generous performance. This delicate and luminous finale perfectly captured the spirit of the Oh les beaux jours! festival: a meeting of disciplines, a dialogue between artists and audience, where literature is constantly enriched by other forms of art. This closing night, imagined as a suspended moment in time, offered everyone a space to feel, imagine, and share. A heartfelt thank you to the entire festival team for this beautiful adventure, to the Mucem for their warm welcome, and to all the artists for these rare and precious moments. 📍 Ancient Theatre of Arles ▪️ iDzia installation: sound, light, structure The Escales du Cargo festival opened in style this year with an electrifying performance by Irish band Fontaines D.C. Taking place in the magnificent Ancient Theatre of Arles, the first evening was marked by a passionate crowd and a raw, poetic energy that only Fontaines D.C. can deliver. Under the open summer sky, the atmosphere was electric, and the audience responded with unwavering enthusiasm, setting the tone for the rest of the festival. Fontaines D.C., now a major name in the international post-punk scene, delivered a powerful and uncompromising set. With the intense stage presence of lead singer Grian Chatten and the layered, driving guitars, the band’s latest album Romance  came to life in this historic setting. Their music, emotional and unapologetically bold, took on a new resonance against the ancient stone backdrop. The contrast between their contemporary sound and the timeless architecture of the theatre created an unforgettable experience. For this special evening, iDzia was proud to once again support the Cargo de Nuit in this exceptional venue. Our team handled the full technical installation: stage structure, sound system, and lighting design. Every element was carefully planned to respect the unique constraints of the site while enhancing the band’s creative direction. The Ancient Theatre of Arles, with its demanding acoustics and monumental scale, offers both a challenge and an inspiration. Finding the balance between amplification and fidelity, between lighting and subtlety, between structure and preservation — that’s the essence of our work in spaces like this. This opening night set the tone for what promises to be a standout edition. The Escales du Cargo, a major fixture in Arles’ cultural landscape, celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Cargo de Nuit this year — a beloved music venue and cultural hub. The 2025 lineup brings together internationally acclaimed artists and bold new talents, all performing in one of the region’s most iconic historic landmarks. 📍Place de la République, Arles ▪️iDzia installation: sound, LED screen, lighting As part of its Summer Tour, the iconic pink bus of @arteconcertfr made a joyful stop in Arles to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14th with a giant karaoke party under the stars, open to all and driven by a spirit of pure celebration. This traveling concept by Arte Concert turns every city stop into a festive, unifying event, transforming urban public spaces into open-air stages where locals and visitors can step up and share their favorite songs. The LED screen displays lyrics in large format while the sound system is tuned to ensure that every voice rising from the crowd is heard loud and clear. iDzia was proud to handle the installation of sound, LED screen, lighting, and electricity to ensure the technical setup matched the scale of the event and delivered a smooth, immersive experience. The Place de la République quickly filled with an exuberant crowd, singing together in harmony and joy to the greatest hits of popular and cultural music, creating an atmosphere infused with good vibes, togetherness, and spontaneity. Thanks to the encouragement of the organizers and the support of the City of Arles, this extraordinary evening offered a musical firework show—without any fireworks—a moving and memorable alternative that resonated deeply with the audience. The Arte Concert karaoke delighted all generations, from children to elders, each reconnecting with beloved classics or discovering new songs in this huge open-air urban theater. iDzia ensured that the lighting highlighted faces and smiles, that the sound was powerful yet comfortable, that the screen was visible from afar, and that the whole system ran smoothly despite the many technical challenges that come with outdoor public events. Taking part in an event of this scale is also our opportunity to emphasize the cultural and social connection that a simple moment—like a giant karaoke—can create, especially when carried by a public cultural broadcaster. 📍Arles, Théâtre Antique ▪️ iDzia Installation: Sound, Light, Video A spectacular opening week marked the 2025 Rencontres d’Arles at the Théâtre Antique, where photography, videoprojection, live storytelling, monumental projections, and aerial performances blended into a powerful celebration of image and voice. This unique experience was made possible by the remarkable presence of the Compagnie Gratte Ciel and the technical expertise of iDzia, which provided the full setup of sound, lighting, and video within this heritage-listed venue. Since its founding in 2013, Gratte Ciel has been turning the sky into a stage, driven by a poetic and choreographic vision of aerial space, and for this edition of the Rencontres, they brought bodies into flight above the ancient stone arena of Arles, in perfect harmony with the projected visuals and embodied narratives. Each evening allowed audiences to discover or rediscover leading artists such as Nan Goldin, whose intimate and powerful imagery was projected on a monumental scale, the photographers of the MYOP agency celebrating 20 years of documentary engagement through the exhibition “Mes yeux, objets patients,” and the emotional energy of Live Magazine, where journalism and performance come together in a unique live format. To support this rich and sensitive program, iDzia deployed a precisely calibrated d&b audiotechnik sound system tailored to the venue’s natural acoustics, ensuring exceptional clarity for voices, soundtracks, and live performances, with an enveloping diffusion reaching every seat in the amphitheater. Lighting was designed to respect and enhance the historic stonework, highlighting both performers and the monument itself, creating an immersive and evolving atmosphere throughout the evenings. Video projection, executed with millimetric precision, magnified the visual works and seamlessly integrated them into the dramatic architectural space. Thanks to smooth collaboration between the Rencontres d’Arles teams, the Gratte Ciel company, and iDzia’s technicians—Nico, Pablo, Emilie, and Elliott—each performance unfolded under optimal technical conditions, merging heritage, contemporary creation, and advanced technology. 📍 LUMA Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: the sound, the lighting, the video When the Landscape Becomes Climate Presented at the LUMA Foundation, in the Magasin Électrique space, from July through November 2025, Bas Smets’ installation Les Climats du Paysage invites us to rethink the city as a living organism. Bas Smets, creator of microclimates Bas Smets, born in 1975 in Belgium, is a landscape architect whose diverse experiences have shaped the way he envisions urban spaces. In 2007, he founded his firm in Brussels and has since completed more than 50 projects internationally, including the landscape park at LUMA Arles’ Parc des Ateliers. His work focuses on using natural elements to create spaces that can better adapt to their environment and, by extension, to the effects of climate change. Notably, he won the international competition for the redevelopment of the public space surrounding Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. The City as a Living Laboratory Les Climats du Paysage shows how the relationship between the city and nature can be reimagined and developed. As the LUMA Foundation summarizes regarding the architect’s approach: “The city can be viewed as an assemblage of artificial climates” (LUMA Foundation, 2025). The exhibition presents three projects that illustrate how landscape can help address the challenges of global warming: cooling the areas around Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, creating a park capable of withstanding rising sea levels in Antwerp, and designing the Parc des Ateliers at LUMA Arles as a self-sustaining space inspired by natural principles. Finally, Les Climats du Paysage reveals the architect’s plans and documents, offering insight into his approach to landscape architecture, an approach that is now more necessary than ever.

📍Le Collatéral, Arles ▪️iDzia installation: sound & light During the annual Fête de la Roquette, now an unmissable gathering, the evening took on a special dimension thanks to the explosive collaboration between @ cultish.studio and the collective @airafrique_ for the opening of the ROOTS exhibition. It all happened in the raw and resonant garage of @le_collateral, transformed by iDzia’s sound and lighting setup into an electrified space where an ever-growing crowd gathered to share a singular sensory experience. The highlight of the day was the DJ set by @yungandy4k, a true catalyst of collective energy, who turned the exhibition venue into a sonic playground, a shared frequency pulsing with bass and Afro-electronic echoes. As part of their carte blanche offered to @airafrique_, @ cultish.studio presented much more than a playlist: a deep, intentional sound curation envisioned as a narrative extension of the ROOTS exhibition, which explores cultural anchoring, invisible legacies, and diasporic voices. This wasn’t just a party—it was a way to honor the roots while projecting them forward, a vibrant act of transmission where every track played became a piece of shared memory. @ cultish.studio approaches curation as a living, evolving practice—an ongoing opportunity to explore new formats and spotlight talents aligned with their vision: a world where cultural practices intersect, elevate, and amplify one another. 📍 Les Collatéraux, Arles ▪️ iDzia installation : sound, video, audiovisual At Les Collatéraux in Arles, a distinctive atmosphere has taken shape with the ROOTS exhibition, curated by Cultish Studio // Publicis Luxe and running until July 16, 2025. Installed in this former stable turned memorial site, the exhibition questions identity, heritage, and intimate memory through a compelling selection of artists such as Carolle Benitah, Mackenzy Bergile, Sarah Braeck, Nicolás Lamas, Brett Lloyd, Diana Scherer, and Zineb Sedira. Their works—ranging from photography and collage to sculpture, textiles, and video—explore our roots in all their forms and dimensions. For the third year in a row, iDzia has contributed a full audiovisual installation—sound, lighting, video, and structural design—enhancing the immersive experience and offering visitors a new kind of sensory engagement. The sound system, based on d&b audiotechnik equipment, was precisely tuned to match the intimate acoustics of Les Collatéraux, ensuring a uniform, enveloping diffusion of the exhibition’s soundscape, including interviews, ambient sounds, and video projections. This setup allowed the audiovisual elements to express their full intensity without compromising the delicate nature of the artworks. On the lighting side, iDzia designed a dimmed scenography tailored to the site’s raw stone architecture, highlighting its natural textures while enhancing the works and guiding the projections. The lighting structure was adapted to suit each artist’s needs and the exhibition’s different tempos—talks, reflective pauses, and more festive moments. The video system, seamlessly integrated, supported the visual narrative of ROOTS, creating a continuous dialogue between the projected content and the physical materials used in the artworks. A particularly moving aspect of this edition was the tribute to Véronique Bataille, whose artistic sensitivity deeply influenced previous iterations. On July 10, ROOTS also welcomed the Air Afrique collective for a special carte blanche event, featuring a concert and DJ set that extended the exhibition’s themes of diasporic memory, archival exploration, and contemporary creation. In the Grande Halle, Egyptian artist Wael Shawky unveils Je suis les hymnes , a monumental installation combining performance, chant, video, and historical storytelling. The piece explores the connections between identity, collective memory, and political mythology through a striking mise-en-scène filled with choirs, costumed figures, and symbolic imagery inspired by Middle Eastern history. The work, both theatrical and introspective, invites audiences to challenge dominant narratives and rethink cultural legacies. At the Magasin Électrique, Belgian landscape designer Bas Smets presents Climates of Landscape , an exhibition that questions our relationship with climate, water, light, and the transformation of natural spaces. Through models, videos, maps, and interactive displays, Smets reveals the natural forces that shape our environment and proposes a new, sensitive reading of the landscape, echoing the very park he designed at Luma. In La Mécanique Générale, Singaporean artist Ho Tzu Nyen presents Strange Tales , a sensory journey through hybrid narratives that blend Asian legends, speculative fiction, and spectral memory. Using immersive video, 3D animation, and fragmented storytelling, he examines how myths and stories influence our understanding of reality and imagination. Other major artists also enrich this dynamic summer program. Inside the iconic Luma Tower, Swiss artist Peter Fischli exhibits People, Planet, Profit , a sharp and ironic critique of global capitalist logic and its planetary impact. Meanwhile, a moving retrospective is dedicated to American photographer David Armstrong, a key figure of the 1980s queer scene in New York, whose intimate portraits and quiet urban scenes capture a sense of beauty and melancholy on society’s margins. The entire Luma site – from its refurbished industrial buildings to the Tower’s galleries and landscaped gardens – becomes a space of artistic exploration, where each corner offers a new idea, a sound, a story, or an emotion.
