Located in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, these quarries are famous for their artistic and immersive projections that illuminate the stone walls, transforming the space into a true theater of light. For this wedding, we rose to the challenge of enhancing this unique atmosphere by adding both sound and light elements perfectly suited to the event. The light plays also helped define the different areas of the reception, from the majestic entrance to the dance floor, including the guests' tables. Each area was illuminated in a specific way to create a particular atmosphere: soft and intimate for dining moments, and more dynamic and festive for the dance floor. • Pierre HUYGHE, "After UUmwelt"

Pierre HUYGHE, After UUmwelt 📍La Grande Halle, Fondation Luma, Arles ▪️ Installation by iDzia: LED screens, video server, sound, sensors Pierre HUYGHE, "After UUmwelt" Pierre Huyghe, an artist renowned for exploring the relationships between humans, nature, and technology, transformed the La Grande Halle at the Fondation Luma into a true sensory laboratory. His installation After UUmwelt  immerses viewers in a universe where human and artificial imagination interact with biological and technological entities. Through this immersive experience, Huyghe confronts the audience with a world in constant evolution, populated by cells, viral forms, and biological and technological processes, blending to create a dynamic environment. The artwork takes its name from the concept of "umwelt," a biological term referring to the world as perceived by an organism — its unique sensory experience of the environment. By adding the prefix "U" to this term, Huyghe suggests an amplification of this perception, transformed and altered by technological and biological elements, offering a new and disorienting view of our surroundings. The installation highlights how human and non-human environments can be interconnected through biological and artificial systems. After UUmwelt  deploys a series of interactive devices that actively engage the viewer's senses. LED screens, video servers, a specially designed sound system, and sensors act as dynamic interfaces that respond to movement and human interaction. The installation becomes a living space, an organism in itself, where the artist creates a dialogue between humans and machines, nature and technology. Visitors are invited to experience this environment as a fluid, transitional space where the boundaries between different forms of life and technology blur. Every element of the installation, whether biological or digital, contributes to this unique sensory experience, blurring the lines between the natural and the artificial. The entire setup creates a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, almost futuristic, where mutations are visible and tangible, offering a glimpse into another world, both fascinating and unsettling. This exhibition, presented from June 26, 2021, to February 9, 2022, prompted reflection on the evolving relationships between humans, technology, and life itself. Pierre Huyghe thus invites us to reconsider our perceptions and interactions with the world around us through an unprecedented immersive and multisensory experience. @luma_arles // @idzia_audiovisuel

  • Sophia AL MARIA, "Tender Point Ruin"

Sophia AL MARIA, Tender Point Ruin, 2021 📍Exhibition Prelude - La Mécanique Générale, Luma Foundation, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: Video Projection with Multichannel Sound Sophia AL MARIA, "Tender Point Ruin" Tender Point Ruin  by Sophia Al Maria focuses on ancient Arabic poetry, collective history, and an assemblage of exquisite cadaveric moments. The artwork immerses the viewer in a universe where ancient Arabic poetry, collective history, and strange beauty converge. The artist delves into universal themes such as memory, destruction, and resilience, weaving connections between the past and present through evocative images and haunting sounds. This video installation, supported by a multichannel sound system, highlights the tensions and ruptures within Arab culture while exploring visual and auditory metaphors. The work reveals images that feel both ancient and contemporary, depicting scenes of destruction, transformation, and resilience. The combination of video projection and sound creates a unique sensory experience that immerses the viewer in a space where time seems suspended, and history is constantly being reinterpreted. Ancient Arabic poetry lies at the heart of this installation, with Al Maria using it to resonate with modern themes, such as the search for meaning in an ever-changing world. The artist invokes symbols of ruin, loss, and reconstruction, while paying homage to the richness of Arab culture and its timeless echoes. The video projections blend scenes of destruction with elements of fragile beauty, creating a poignant and unsettling contrast. The sound design amplifies the emotional impact of the work, with sounds that traverse the space and envelop the audience. Tender Point Ruin  can be seen as a reflection on the fragility of civilizations and cultures in the face of the forces of time and history. The piece encourages reflection on notions of preservation and erasure, while inviting contemplation on cultural heritage and how we integrate it into our present. • P. STAFF, "Conjunctions"

    P. STAFF, Conjunctions, 2021 📍Exhibition Prelude - La Mécanique Générale, Fondation Luma, Arles ▪️ iDzia Installation: LED screen, multichannel sound, lighting P. STAFF, "Conjunctions" P. Staff's Conjunctions  installation, presented as part of the Prelude  exhibition at the Fondation Luma, immerses the viewer in a deep reflection on the intensity of the relationship between two bodies, whether celestial or planetary, human or cyborg, living or undead. Through this work, P. Staff explores the concepts of contact and the transfer of energy through matter, thus questioning the boundary between the organic and the non-organic, the living and the non-living. This project is part of a broader reflection on bodily dynamics and the interactions between different forms of existence. Conjunctions  challenges the viewer to think beyond typical physical relationships by inviting them to reconsider how we are interconnected with our environment. The work creates an immersive and sensory atmosphere where viewers are invited to engage with representations of bodies and matter in interaction. The LED screen, combined with a multichannel sound installation and a carefully crafted light setup, provides a richly sensory experience in which each visual and auditory element seems to converse with the others, creating an organic and vibrant whole. The use of multichannel sound enhances this immersion, enveloping the viewer in a dynamic and spatial auditory environment. The concept behind Conjunctions  offers a complex vision of the world, where the boundaries between the living and the non-living blur and transform. The projected images, coupled with a progressively dense and saturated sound environment, suggest invisible interconnections, exchanges of energy and matter, as if the work itself became a space of passage where elements intertwine and transform. In doing so, P. Staff invites viewers to reflect on their place in the world and their relationship with other forms of life, whether biological or technological. From June 26, 2021 to January 9, 2022@p___staff // @luma_arles // @idzia_audiovisuel Conjunctions  is thus a poetic and philosophical exploration of invisible exchanges and the intimate relationships that bind us to the universe, in an innovative and captivating visual and auditory language. This work perfectly illustrates the ability of art to transcend boundaries, twist realities, and invite the viewer to question fundamental concepts of our existence.

  • Jakob KUDSK STEENSEN, "Liminal Lands"

Jakob KUDSK STEENSEN, Liminal Lands 📍Exhibition Prelude - La Mécanique Générale, Fondation Luma, Arles ▪️ Installation iDzia: LED screens, 5.1 sound, VR Jakob KUDSK STEENSEN, "Liminal Lands" Jakob Kudsk Steensen's Liminal Lands  immerses the viewer in the unique and fascinating landscape of the Camargue. Through this work, Steensen invites the audience to explore an environment where nature, technology, and imagination converge to create a unique multisensory experience. This project, designed using advanced digital tools, unveils the wild beauty and hidden mysteries of this territory, while evoking the subtle and often invisible processes that shape the natural world. The work takes the form of an immersive video installation utilizing LED screens, 5.1 surround sound, and virtual reality (VR) technologies to offer a total, enveloping experience. Steensen’s goal is to create a liminal space, a place between two worlds, where the boundaries between reality and imagination are blurred. The use of technology allows the viewer to move freely within this virtual universe, where nature merges with digital artifice, giving rise to landscapes that are both real and imagined. In Liminal Lands , Steensen questions the relationship between humans and nature, exploring the landscapes around us that we often tend to ignore or neglect. The work highlights how natural processes, often invisible to the naked eye, continue to shape and evolve independently of our presence. The Camargue, with its vast wetlands, ponds, and wild grasses, becomes a site for poetic and philosophical exploration, where natural elements interact with contemporary phenomena and ecological concerns. By presenting this work at the Fondation Luma, in the space of La Mécanique Générale, Jakob Kudsk Steensen invites us to a profound reflection on our relationship with the environment and the ongoing changes in the natural world.
