EBB : MISSION FRISSON - LUMA 2025

A Convergence of Sports, Art, and Education

Presented at the LUMA Foundation in La Grande Halle from October 2025 to January 2026, the installation MISSION FRISSON (THRILL MISSION) brings to life a sports recreation park conceived at the intersection of contemporary art and education.

This work was part of a collaboration between LUMA and EBB, carried out within the Foundation’s educational program, and was co-produced with the senior class studying “Hospitality Professions” at Montmajour Highschool in Arles.

EBB, a hybrid studio at the intersection of art and technology

Founded by Franco-Algerian artist Neïl Beloufa, EBB is a studio that brings together artists, authors, researchers, curators, and developers to explore the digital technologies that shape our daily lives.

The collective creates interactive experiences, drawing in particular on artificial intelligence and algorithms. With support from the European Union for some of its projects, it also develops educational initiatives aimed at making culture and technology accessible to young people : an approach at the heart of the MISSION FRISSON project.

A park designed by high school students from Arles

The installation was developed over the course of a school year with the participation of sixteen students, who were involved in every stage of its design, from conceptualization to construction. The result is a playful experience where technology becomes a creative tool for physical activity and play. As the art center notes:

“This pioneering artistic and educational project invites the public to follow a path punctuated by physical challenges and puzzles to solve, all within a hybrid universe blending myths and realities.” (LUMA Arles, 2025)

Thus, MISSION FRISSON demonstrates that art, education, and play can come together to create a truly innovative experience.
