▪️ Artist's residency, showcase tour preparation
Sinclair in residence at iDzia’s ScenikLab®: a space dedicated to tour preparation
The ScenikLab® at iDzia recently welcomed Sinclair and his team for a tour preparation residency. We would like to warmly thank them for choosing our venue to work on the technical setup of their upcoming tour.
Residency periods like this are essential in the life of a musical project. They allow artists, musicians and technicians to refine every detail of the show before heading out to meet their audience. The goal is to prepare and gradually build the performance together as a team, creating a coherent and immersive stage experience.
Sinclair, a key figure in the French music scene
For more than twenty years, Sinclair has established himself as one of the major figures of the French funk, soul and pop scene. A songwriter, composer, performer and accomplished musician, he became widely known through now-iconic songs such as Si c’est bon comme ça and Ensemble.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous artists, developed multiple musical projects and delivered powerful live performances, building a unique artistic identity that blends groove, energy and musical precision.
In preparation for his new tour, this residency at the ScenikLab® allowed the artistic team to work in optimal technical conditions in order to prepare the show down to the smallest details.
A technical residency to prepare the stage
During this residency period, the team was able to test stage configurations, prepare cabling, refine technical installations and work collectively in a space with ideal dimensions for rehearsal and production.
These valuable moments enable artists to fully focus on the creative process while benefiting from a professional environment adapted to the demands of live performance.
The ScenikLab®: a technical and creative laboratory in Arles
The ScenikLab® at iDzia is a space designed to host artistic residencies, training sessions, video productions, rehearsals and technical demonstrations. At the heart of the facility is a 200 m² technical stage, fully modular and equipped with a motorized grid, offering great flexibility for the installation of lighting, video or scenic systems.
The ScenikLab® also includes:
multifunctional spaces dedicated to collaborative work,
an audio, image and video production studio,
direct access to iDzia’s professional audiovisual equipment inventory.
Teams can therefore benefit from a complete range of equipment including sound systems, lighting, video, stage structures, backline and power distribution, making it easier to prepare artistic projects in conditions close to those of a live stage or performance venue.
The space also allows experimentation with advanced technologies, such as immersive sound systems using Soundscape technology developed by d&b audiotechnik, opening new possibilities for creative sound design.
By hosting artists like Sinclair in residence, the ScenikLab® at iDzia confirms its purpose: to be a place for creation, experimentation and technical preparation, serving artists, production teams and audiovisual projects.
