Jazz à Saint-Rémy Festival : iDzia Provides Live Sound for Concerts at the Alpilium

Three Evenings of Jazz Festival in the Heart of the Alpilles

From 17 to 19 September, the Jazz à Saint-Rémy-de-Provence Festival once again brought the Alpilium to life with three evenings of live music, each offering its own distinctive style and atmosphere. For this year’s edition, iDzia provided sound reinforcement for the 8:30 pm concerts, working alongside the artists and organisers to bring the richness of live jazz to the audience.

We are delighted to continue our collaboration with the Jazz à Saint-Rémy team year after year. This renewed trust reflects the value of a lasting technical partnership in supporting cultural events across the region.

Three Concerts, Three Distinct Musical Worlds

This year’s programme offered a rich overview of the jazz scene, moving from tributes to the great voices of blues and jazz to contemporary musical explorations and the elegance of Italian-inspired sounds.

17 September – R. Lemonnier 6Tet, Tribute to Bessie Smith

The opening evening paid tribute to Bessie Smith, one of the most influential figures in blues and jazz vocal music. With Tribute to Bessie Smith, R. Lemonnier 6Tet revisited this musical legacy, combining the energy of the ensemble with the richness of its arrangements.

18 September – Erik Truffaz & Antonio Lizana Octet, New Sketches of Spain

The second evening took the audience on a musical journey blending jazz, Spanish influences and contemporary sounds. With New Sketches of Spain, Erik Truffaz and Antonio Lizana Octet explored a musical landscape where different styles meet and interact, creating a rich and nuanced listening experience.

19 September – Stefano Di Battista Quintet, La Dolce Vita

The festival’s three-evening programme concluded with an Italian touch as Stefano Di Battista Quintet presented La Dolce Vita. Evoking the elegance and imagery of Italian cinema, the performance brought together expressive saxophone playing and the musical chemistry of the ensemble.

Three different approaches to jazz, united by a shared commitment to musical excellence and the joy of live performance.

Sound Reinforcement in Service of the Music and the Audience

Live sound reinforcement is about much more than simply amplifying instruments and voices. It is about allowing the audience to fully experience the performance while preserving the musical balance, dynamics and sonic identity of each ensemble.

At Jazz à Saint-Rémy, every concert presented its own requirements, depending on the musicians, arrangements and desired sound. The aim of the technical production is to reproduce the artists’ work as faithfully as possible, while providing a clear, balanced and comfortable listening experience for the audience. This attention to detail is an essential part of live event production. Careful preparation, control of the sound system and the ability to adapt to the needs of each performance all contribute to creating the right conditions for a successful concert.

A Lasting Partnership with Jazz à Saint-Rémy

At iDzia, we place great importance on working with cultural organisations across our region. Supporting a festival year after year helps build a relationship of trust with its organisers, develop a deeper understanding of the event’s specific requirements and contribute to maintaining consistent technical standards.

Based in Arles, our team provides technical services for concerts, festivals and cultural events, delivering solutions tailored to the needs of each production. Our live sound expertise is part of a broader approach to event technical production, where technical precision and close collaboration with artists and organisers are essential.

A sincere thank you to the Jazz à Saint-Rémy organisers for their continued trust, and to all the artists and musicians for three wonderful evenings of live music. We are proud to contribute, through our technical expertise, to the cultural vitality of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and the Alpilles.
